2 New Web Development Projects

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

The first quarter of 2009 has been a busy one here at Web Contempo. Along with many exciting new projects for various local businesses, the freelance web development market has never been busier. Particularly Joomla development, consulting and administration here in Minneapolis.

Today I’ve added my two latest projects to the portfolio. Both are great looking sites using 2 totally different platforms and featuring a variety of great enhancements.

Trusted Employees:

Trusted employees is a site developed for a local company specializing in background screening services. This site is HTML based and features a completely custom design. Some notable features include a custom slideshow on the home page and over 3 full size custom graphics - unique on each page. This site is a perfect example of how a clean layout combined with vivid graphics can produce a truly elegant and professional end result.

New SEO Case Studies Added to Web Contempo

Monday, December 1st, 2008

It’s been a LONG time coming, but I finally added the first 4 SEO case studies to the site. Of course, I’ve been doing SEO forever but only started agressively marketing my SEO services towards new clients relatively recently. In the past, most of my SEO was either for my own personal projects, or done as a contractor so I can’t rightly take credit for the results.

I’ve got a whole slew of sites which are currently in the SEO process, and new clients are coming on board as well, so I hope to be constantly updating my SEO case studies with new and exciting results. Starting out, I decided to present 4 sites that I’ve really achieved some amazing results with, including my first ever SEO client, and also my personal e-commerce business which makes a 5 digit monthly income based on entirely organic search traffic.

If you haven’t seen the new SEO case studies yet, check them out here.

Also - I’ve got WebContempo.com rapidly climbing in the Google ranks for some extremely competitive keywords like “Minnesota Web Design”, “Minnesota SEO”, “Minneapolis Web Design” and many more, so I hope to have a very exciting and personal case study to add as soon as I crack the first results page for a nice handful of those terms.

Stay Tuned!

WPContempo.com Official Launch Today

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

I’ve got so many Wordpress themes sitting around I decided to create a new online Wordpress resource site where I can distribute them freelely. WP Contempo is a Web Contempo sister site 100% dedicated to Wordpress. The main things I’ll be doing over there will be releasing free Wordpress themes, posting Wordpress tutorials and sharing other Wordpress tips I’ve came across over the years.

Today was the official launch of WP Contempo, and to coincide with the launch I’ve decided to release the WP Contempo theme free to everyone. The WP Contempo theme is basically the same theme used here at Web Contempo. I made a few modifications including widening the overall layout and increasing the sidebar to 280 pixels wide to accomodate more room for people to place advertisements.

Please head over to WP Contempo and check out the first of many free Wordpress themes.

Web Contempo 2.0

Friday, September 26th, 2008

After a year and a half, we finally decided to give our Web Contempo site a much needed facelift. Check out our old look below:

As you can see, we’ve made a lot of changes from the original design. We felt that the old design was great, but it lacked the flexibility to easily add and format new content. When redesigning our site, we wanted to use a more open layout with increased white space which allows for much more control over the formatting of new content. Basically, we wanted to take emphasis off of the site’s design itself, and put more emphasis. The new design accomplishes that well, and offers a “less is more” approach. We have vibrant color scattered throughout the site, which compliments a simple, elegant layout, and also allows us to easily use a lot of great new features within the content. One of the main upgrades we included in the new design is an AJAX based lightbox program, which we use to create a visually pleasing display for our portfolio. There are a variety of other enhancements we plan to add throughout the content in the near future as well, so stay tuned!

Welcome Back Web Contempo Blog

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

It’s been over 6 months since we removed the old Web Contempo Blog, and finally, I am pleased to present the brand new Web Contempo Blog, which is being released in conjunction with our brand new web design.

Some of the things you can expect to see featured the Blog in the near future will be updates on current projects and new project introuductions, and hopefully some helpful articles related to web design and Internet marketing. I am also most likely going to release our Blog theme as a standalone Wordpress theme, which anyone will be able to download free of charge. It will take me a bit of work to get it ready to go, but be on the look out for that soon. I also have a whole bunch of CSS web site templates I will likely release for free at some point - whenever I have time to get them ready to distribute.

Thanks for visiting, and please check back often!
