Web Design Process

At Web Contempo we treat each project in a unique and personal way, unlike some of our Minnesota Web Design competitors who use pre-made design templates from template brokers. By starting from scratch, we can achieve a web design that will exceed the goals of your business and provide real results. We have developed an easy and non-invasive design process to help us learn as much as possible about the needs of your business and your personal taste. By doing this the end result will be a unique and orginal website that accurately projects your image to your target demographic.

Phase 1 - Research and Planning

We find out what verbiage, colors, existing graphics and themes you want to incorporate into your design, and ask you to provide examples of existing websites that you feel have a design you would like to emulate in some ways. We will listen to any ideas and suggestions you have regarding the direction of the design.

Phase 2 - Design

Our design team will work to create a custom design that accurately fits your needs. Once the design is complete, we will present it to you, at which time we can make any modifications you like. If you aren't satisfied with the design, we will start from scratch and create an entirely different design. Once we have your approval on the design, we can begin development.

Phase 3 - Development

A common mistake many other minnesota web design companies make is taking a great design and ruining it with sloppy coding. Websites that started out as a great concept are bogged down by usless code which causes slower loading times, browser compatibility issues and most importantly makes it harder for search engines to index. At Web Contempo, you can be assured that this will never happen. We hold our developers to the highest standards - we use a cutting edge CSS Layout technique that leads to faster page loading and optimal search engine performance. All of our websites are XHTML complient and pass current W3C validation.

Phase 4 - Testing

Once we've completed programming your website we will carefully test every facet of your site. We will work to make sure that the programmed version of your website is consistent with the original design down to the very last pixel, the site passes W3C XHTML validation, and that every link is working perfectly. We will not be satisifed until everything is 100% perfect.

Phase 5 - Launch

Your site will be ready to go live and be available for the general public once it passes our testing phase and has been approved. We can work with the web hosting of your choice, or we can set up your web hosting for you with our recommended 3rd party hosting service provider - in which case we can also set up your email accounts as well. We will also retest the site again after it has gone live, to make sure everything is still consistent.

Phase 6 - Maintenance

The Key to a great website is providing fresh, updated content to keep visitors coming back. We have several maintenance plans available to keep your website up to date, or we are also happy to service your site on an hourly rate if you prefer not to use a maintenance plan.
